Biography

D r. Jane Akpamgbo is a board-certified family physician with 35 years of experience providing patient-centered care. She believes the best healthcare is achieved through partnership between physician and patient, emphasizing prevention, early intervention, and informed decision-making. She earned her medical degree from the University of Benin School of Medicine in Benin City, Nigeria. She completed her internship at Eko Hospitals PLC in Lagos, Nigeria, and her residency in family and community medicine at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Akpamgbo has cared for patients throughout the Pacific Northwest, including British Columbia, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Before joining Windermere Medical Group, she served as a senior physician with Northwest Permanente Medical Group, providing care within Kaiser Permanente Northwest.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Akpamgbo has held numerous leadership positions with the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians. Culminating in her service as president for 2025 to 2026. She currently serves as the organization’s immediate past president. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a lifetime member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Akpamgbo has been actively involved in healthcare advocacy, working with Oregon legislators and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Oregon in support of House Bill2940, helping to improve care for individuals living with sickle cell disease.
She strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their health concerns. She does not routinely wear a traditional white coat because she believes it helps patients feel more at ease. She values a partnership approach to care, encouraging patients to become active partners in making informed decisions. She enjoys her role as a wife and mother.
