Most physical exams take a minimum of 30-45 minutes, depending on the specific tests required. DOT, employee, or general physical can also include more than one round depending on the results and after instructions from your physician.
It’s advised to book one exam per visit. Furthermore, yes, it’s possible to combine exams like sports and employment physicals if needed.
The new DOT physical requirements include:
- Vision should be 20/40 in each eye
- Able to hear forced whisper from less than five feet away without a hearing aid
- Must have a blood sugar below 200
- No history of addictive drug use
- Able to differentiate colors on a stoplight
- Measurement of blood samples and steady pulse rate
